How to Make Peace and Calming Blend

The Peace and Calming blend by Young Living is one of the most popular essential oil blends on the market. This can make it difficult to get your hands on at times since it often sells out or goes out of stock for long periods due to the rare blue tansy oil included in this blend.

The blue tansy is a core ingredient that enhances this blend’s amazing balancing properties. The thing is, it’s a seasonal crop that requires very special conditions to produce high-quality blue tansy essential oil. This is why availability can be a bit limited and one of the main reasons why Peace and Calming goes out of stock so quickly!

So, what can we do when we’ve run out of this emotionally supportive blend? You whip up a batch of your own to hold you over!

What Essential Oils Are in Peace and Calming?

Peace and Calming essential oil contains:

  • Tangerine
  • Sweet Orange
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Patchouli
  • Blue Tansy

How to Make Peace and Calming

Peace and Calming is an excellent blend to use when you feel like you need an emotional hug. On days when I feel overwhelmed, stressed, down and blue, or just a bit frazzled, this blend helps restore a calm and collected attitude and gives me a bit of “emotional breathing room”.

Often, I will make a roll-on using the Peace and Calming blend or the dupe recipe below when I run out to keep in my purse. It’s perfect for feelings of anxiety and worry which is something I experience on the regular.

To make a 15ml sized bottle of master blend, you will need:

  • 60 drops sweet orange essential oil
  • 45 drops ylang ylang essential oil
  • 15 drops patchouli essential oil

This makes about 210 drops of master blend, just under 15ml.

What is Peace and Calming Essential Oil Used For?

Peace and Calming is used for emotional support such as stress relief, anxiety, tension, worry, general well-being, and relaxation. It is the perfect blend to use after a long day of work, errands, and busy family life.

How to Use Peace and Calming Essential Oil

This blend encourages relaxation and a deep, almost meditative sense of ease, calm, and well-being. This helps alleviate feelings of tension and uplifts everyday emotional burdens.

Peace and Calming is especially useful when used before bedtime and is known to calm over-active children and whisk the whole family off into restful sleep.

There are a number of ways to use Peace and Calming essential oil.

Some of the best ways to use it include:

Making a Roll-On

Add 2-4 drops of master blend to a 10ml roll-on bottle and top it off with your favorite carrier oil.

Cap it closed and roll the bottle between your palms to mix.

Dab the blend onto wrists and the sides of the throat. Avoid direct sunlight on areas of application for at least 12 hours.

Making a Massage Oil

Add 3-6 drops of master blend to 1 TB of your favorite carrier oil. I personally enjoy apricot seed oil or sweet almond oil as a base for massage oils because of their light yet moisturizing nature.

Massage the infused oil all over your body after a luxurious bath or shower before bedtime to instill a sense of heightened relaxation and inner peace.

A massage with this blend is especially helpful when dealing with insomnia or muscular tension.

For added relaxing properties, mix peace and calming with lavender essential oil.

Diffusing in Your Home or Workspace

Add 5 drops of master blend to a diffuser in select rooms in your home to help calm the entire household.

It is especially good for calming children before bed and helps them “slow down”.

Why Does Peace and Calming Work so Well?

The essential oils that were selected for this fabled blend are known to be potent emotional supporters that bring everything back into alignment both mentally and emotionally.

Tangerine essential oil is an uplifting yet sedative oil that helps decrease anxiety, tension, and stress.

Sweet orange essential oil increases feelings of peace and elation making you feel joyous, secure, and happy. It is also great for reducing feelings of anxiety.

Ylang Ylang balances energy and restores emotional equilibrium. It is also very relaxing when inhaled.

Patchouli essential oil is grounding, energizing to the mind, emotionally centering, clarifying, and allows us to let go after a long day. It’s the perfect oil for restoring emotional balance.

Lastly, blue tansy essential oil helps boost self-esteem and confidence while clearing away emotional baggage. It is also an incredibly calming essential oil that exhibits potent cleansing properties for both the liver and lymphatic system. This aids the body in dispelling feelings of anger and negativity.

All of these oils in one synergistic blend are what make Peace and Calming so incredible to use when you feel wrung out and in need of emotional support.
