Apathy is a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern about emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical, or physical life and the world. This state of indifference or the suppression of emotions can lead to one feeling very negative or unhappy, even depressed.

It’s fair to say that everyone experiences apathy at one time or another in their lives. It’s the force that prevents us from finding the energy to do things, feeling enthusiastic about the things we’re interested in, and just feeling totally indifferent no matter what’s happening around us.

It’s incredibly important when we feel apathetic for too long or in our daily lives that we seek to stop it in its tracks. If left to its own devices, apathy can morph into more serious negative frames of mind which can cause our health to decline and our relationships to suffer.

The Best Essential Oils for Apathy

Dissipating feelings of apathy can be done through the use of essential oils along with a bit of encouragement and gentle stimulation like going for a walk, getting some sunshine, changing up your routine, etc.

As for specific essential oils, some of the best ones to use for symptoms of apathy include:

– Frankincense
– Geranium
– Ginger CO2
– Jasmine (diluted version)
– Lemon
– Marjoram
– Orange
– Peppermint
– Rose (diluted version)
– Rosemary
– Rosewood
– Sandalwood (diluted version)
– Thyme
– Ylang ylang

These essential oils are known to stimulate the mind, awaken positive emotions, and help fire up our desire to pursue the things we enjoy.

When feelings of “I’m bored but I don’t feel like doing anything” start to arise, use the blends below to help get you out of that negative and energy-less state.

Essential Oil Recipes for Apathy

Recommended Blend #1

– 3 drops peppermint
– 3 drop orange
– 3 drops rosewood

Diffuse 2-3x daily to help stimulate positive emotions and a connection with others.

Recommended Blend #2

– 1 drop rose in jojoba oil
– 1 drop jasmine in jojoba oil

Add to a diffuser necklace and wear throughout the day to encourage feelings of the heart.

Recommended Blend #3

– 3 drops lemon
– 1 drop ginger CO2

Add the oils to the cotton pad of a personal nasal inhaler and breath in gently as needed. These oils are bright and stimulating and will help uplift your emotions and frame of mind.
